The Colorado Rockies were a Major League hockey team based in Denver, CO, and played in the National Hockey League (NHL). From 1976 to 1982, the team competed in the NHL before relocating to New Jersey and becoming the New Jersey Devils.

NHL Seasons

During their time in the NHL, the Colorado Rockies played six seasons and amassed an overall record of 108 wins, 369 losses, and 80 ties. The team qualified for the playoffs once, in the 1979-1980 season, where they lost in the first round to the Philadelphia Flyers.

Notable players who played for the Colorado Rockies include Lanny McDonald, Bobby Clarke, and Jim Craig. The team's home arena was the McNichols Sports Arena.
